2017 UFTA Nationals Amateur Pointing Champion crowned........Matt Behe and his dog Slick, continued the dominance that propelled them to the High Points Championship for both the Open and Amateur Pointing Divisions in the regular season to capture the Amateur Pointing National Championship at Wayne Fitzgerrel State Recreation Center in Whittington, IL. Matt and Slick out paced the rest of the field with two 3 minute runs in Mondays final runoff. Over two days of competition, the field was narrowed down to 35 for the final runoff in unseasonably warm temperatures for late February in southern Illinois, Monday, February 27th, 2017. Although Matt and Slick lead from the start, the competition for 2nd through 10th place was tight until the very end. Below are the 10 Ten Placements for the event.
