2018 UFTA Nationals to be held February 24 - March 3, 2018 at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park, Whittington, IL. If you have any questions, regarding lodging or questions about the facilities, direct those to Jamie Canada, Seasons at Rend Lake, 12575 Golf Course Dr, Whittington, IL @ 1-800-999-0977. Our Trial Host is Josh Tucker again for 2018. Birds for practice will be available on Thursday, February 22nd. You may not bring birds onto the State Park to use for practice. There will be designated Practice Fields and designated fields for dogs in heat. Fields used for competition will NOT be available to use for practice. Josh Tucker will be available or someone he designates will be there to answer questions and give directions. Josh’s contact number is 217-720-2901. Event Schedule: Amateur Pointing Division Trial will be February 24th and 25th with Finals on February 26th. The date for the Doubles Pointing Division will be February 27th with the Finals on February 28th. Open Pointing Division will be March 1st and 2nd with the Finals on Saturday, March 3rd. The Open Flushing Division will be on March 1st and 2nd with the Finals on March 3rd. The Doubles Flushing Division will be on February 27th. The Membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 28th at the Conference Center. The UFTA banquet will be before the Awards Ceremony. This event will be held on Saturday, March 3 rd at the Conference Center. Anyone, age 62 and over, who is interested in running in the Seniors Trial on Monday, February 26th, please include the fee of $125.00 per dog with your deposit. This will be a two (2) run event. Please indicate the dog(s) you plan to enter and include this fee with your deposit. You must run a dog that is qualified for the UFTA Nationals. This event is for the handler and not the dog. This event will have a payback. The Youth Pointing Division will be Saturday, February 24th and Youth Flushing will be Tuesday, February 27th provided we have enough participants. The Youth Trial will consist of one run. A parent will be allowed to shoot for their child. UFTA will be covering a portion of the entry fee in order to facilitate the Youth event. Entry fee will be $30.00. Dan Ruffcorn would greatly appreciate anything you are willing to donate to help support the youth event. For donations and/or for the youth entries, please contact Dan Ruffcorn at 217-257-1339. The Women’s Division will be held on Monday & Tuesday, February 26th & February 27th. The event will be separated into Flushers on Monday, February 26th and Pointers on the Tuesday, February 27th. Each event will consist of two runs. Women must shoot for themselves. The entry fee will be $125.00. Please contact Dan Ruffcorn if you wish to participate at 217-257-1339. REMINDERS: 1. Steel Shot must be used at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park. Any competitor using prohibited shot will be disqualified for the entire UFTA Nationals. 2. If you are the Handler/Designated Shooter and run a dog in qualifying , you MUST run the dog in the Finals. 3. A dog that goes to the finals as one of the High Point Dogs, counts as one of the four (4) dogs that a Handler/Designated Shooter could possibly be taking to the finals. 4. If you are registering and paying for someone else’s dog(s), you must submit a separate registration form for each additional owner. You can secure a blank registration form from the website to complete this process. Please register only the dogs listed on your form. |
