Posted on : Tuesday February 28 2017 2017 UFTA Nationals Amateur Pointing Champion crowned........Matt Behe and his dog Slick, continued the dominance that propelled them to the High Points Championship for both the Open and Amateur Pointing Divisions in the regular season to capture the Amateur Pointing National Championship at Wayne Fitzgerrel State Recreation Center in Whittington, IL. Matt and Slick out paced the rest of the field with two 3 minute runs in Mondays final runoff. Two days prior, a field of over 150 dogs and handlers from all over the U.S. including last year's Champion Randy Brown and Hannah, perennial favorites like Scott Deuel, Bernie Berkinholz and Paul Vaughn and new comers like David Register and Cody Calvert began qualifying to reach the finals. Over two days of competition, the field was narrowed down to 35 for the final runoff. Below are the 10 Ten Placements for the event. Read More |
